Apple is adding real-time electric vehicle charging to Apple Maps with iOS 17, allowing users with electric vehicles to see real-time charging station availability filtered by charging network, plug type, and more.
With the new real-time electric vehicle charging feature, users with compatible vehicles will be able to designate a preferred charging network in Apple Maps, showing real-time charging station availability for their vehicle along their route.
Last year, Apple allowed users to plan trips that include stops for charging electric vehicles along their Apple Maps route, but only now will Maps show real-time availability for charging stations.
