Apple collector @KosutamiSa suggested last week that Apple had initially planned to offer its MagSafe Charger for iPhone in a colored version, similar to the colored MagSafe Charging cables it makes for the MacBook Air.
Following the insight, the collector has reported that Apple had planned eight different colors for the charger, including space gray, starlight, green, pink, purple, yellow, blue, and (PRODUCT)RED, although for whatever reason, the colors were dropped.
According to MacRumors, who obtained the information from collector @KosutamiSa, the yellow, blue, and (PRODUCT)RED variants, in particular, were apparently highly saturated, deep shades, with the rubberized disc on the surface contrasting to the shade of the aluminum exterior of the circular charging puck.
Apple’s MagSafe Charger for iPhone is only available in silver. The circular puck can be used to wirelessly charge and iPhone 8 or later, and features magnets to attach to an iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro with precision alignment for faster wireless charging up to 15W.
