iPadOS 17 rumored to drop support for these three iPads

Apple will officially announce the next major software update coming to the iPad at WWDC23 in June, offering an early preview of iPadOS 17 and all its new features ahead of an official release later in the year.

As we near WWDC23, which will take place from June 5 through June 9, a new rumor is claiming that Apple will drop support for three iPads with the release of iPadOS 17, with the insight coming from a source who previously correctly predicted that Apple would drop support for the first-generation iPhone SE and iPhone 6s with iOS 16.

According to French tech website iPhoneSoft, the first-generation 9.7-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro as well as the fifth-generation iPad will not support iPadOS 17.

The rumor suggests that iPadOS 17 will be compatible on the iPad Pro (2017 and later), iPad Air (third generation and later), iPad (sixth generation and later), and iPad mini (fifth generation and later.

As for iOS 17, it has previously been rumored that iOS 17 may not be compatible with the iPhone X, iPhone 8 or iPhone 8 Plus.
