Rumored new iPhone 15 Pro multi-use Action button to offer camera control functions, says leaker

Apple is rumored to be swapping the mute switch on iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max with an all-new customizable Action button like that found on the Apple Watch Ultra, giving users the ability to program the button to set ring/silent, turn on the flashlight, turn on low power mode, and more.

After a credible leaker offered some insight to the new multi-use button last week, a new, lesser known source has chimed in, claiming that one new element users will be able to control with the iPhone’s Action button will be the camera.

According to leaker @analyst941, the Action button on the iPhone 15 Pro will give users the option to auto-focuses the camera, capture an image and also record videos.

The different modes are supposedly selected by force with users either lightly pressing, hard pressing or hard and long pressing the Action button to switch modes.

Leaked CAD files for the iPhone 15 Plus and iPhone 15 Pro were not too long ago turned into renders, giving us our first look at what to expect from the new devices including USB-C support, a new curve design for the Pro series, updated volume controls, and more.
