Google is allegedly working on its own first-party tracking tags to rival Apple’s AirTag and Tile trackers, according to a new report by The Verge that cites developer and reliable leaker Kuba Wojciechowski.

According to the report, the tracker, codenamed “Grogu,” is currently being developed by the Google Nest team, featuring support for Bluetooth LE and ultra-wideband (UWB), with the tracker expected to include a speaker, similar to AirTag, to play a sound to locate missing items.

The leaker suggests that the new trackers could be released in multiple color options, with an announcement for the new accessories potentially happening in May during the Google I/O Developer Conference ahead of a release in the fall, likely alongside the roll out of new Pixel devices.
