Twitter Blue relaunching on Monday at $11/month on iPhone and $8/month on the web

Twitter is relaunching its pay-monthly subscription service Twitter Blue on Monday, with the service now costing subscribers $11/month when purchased on iPhone, or $8/month when purchased on the web to circumvent the 30% commission Apple takes on in-app purchases from the App Store.

Twitter stopped taking new Twitter Blue subscribers two days after the service was revamped by Elon Musk last month, offering users access to the ability to post higher-resolution 1080p videos, see fewer ads, and more, as well as the platform’s blue checkmark which allowed anyone to pay to show a blue verification checkmark on their account, without any prior checks to verify they were who they say they were.

Beginning tomorrow, Twitter Blue subscribers who previously subscribed to the service on iPhone will be notified of the change in pricing, giving users the option to either cancel their Twitter Blue subscription through the App Store to rejoin on the web at the lower price of $8/month, or to continue paying through the in-app subscription for $11/month.

With the relaunch of Twitter Blue, Twitter CEO Elon Musk has said that accounts subscribing to the pay monthly service will only receive the blue checkmark once they add a verified phone number to their account, which will undergo a mini review prior to the blue badge appearing.
