Here’s how to buy a blue verification checkmark on Twitter

Now anyone can buy themselves a blue verification checkmark on Twitter, with the social network introducing a controversial new $7.99/month Twitter Blue subscription service that automatically applies a blue badge to accounts that subscribe and pay monthly, as well as unlocking other subscriber-only features.

Beginning today, users in the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and the UK can subscribe to the social network’s new Twitter Blue service, which in addition to blue badge verification, also offers the ability to edit tweets after they have been posted, the option to select an alternative app icon to change the appearance of the app, as well as app themes, the ability to customize the app’s navigation bar, and more.

Until now, Twitter only verified accounts that were authentic and notable in a designated category, making verification exclusive to celebrities, companies, politicians, and other influential figures.
