Apple is planning to release iOS 16.2 in mid-December, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, who claims that the update will come before the release of iOS 16.3 in either February or March.

In the latest edition of his weekly Power On newsletter, Gurman says iOS 16.3 will likely release alongside macOS Ventura 13.3, which will come with the rumored new M2 Pro and M2 Max 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro in the first quarter of calendar 2023.

According to Gurman, iOS 16.2 and iPadOS 16.2 “should be released around mid-December,” with developer testing beginning earlier this month, revealing that the update will include a new Sleep widget for the iPhone Lock Screen, the ability to report accidental Emergency SOS triggers, a new architecture for the Home app, more frequent updates to Lock Screen Live Activities, and more.
