Transport for London adds widgets to iPhone Lock Screen with latest TfL Go app update

Transport for London have updated the TFL Go app, adding new widgets to show live information about the status of the TfL underground tube network from the iPhone Lock Screen, compatible with all devices running iOS 16, which is now available after being released on Monday.

Version 1.30.3 of the TfL Go app allows users to choose from two widget types: the TfL Line Status Widget, which shows the status of any TfL underground tube line, and the Tube Status widget, which shows the status board for all London Underground lines.

The widgets are available in two sizes, allowing them to be placed alongside other Lock Screen widgets, such as Apple’s default Weather, Calendar, Fitness and News widgets.

How to add Lock Screen widgets in iOS 16

  • On the Lock Screen, press and hold the background image until the Collections view appears
  • Edit your Lock Screen by tapping the Customise button
  • Select the highlighted Add Widgets box underneath the time on the Lock Screen
  • Choose up to three Widgets to appear on the Lock Screen from the available options
  • Either tap or drag the widgets from the list onto your Lock Screen
  • Tap the background to close the widget list and press Done to save your custom Lock Screen

Transport for London are one of the first large-scale developers to add support for iOS 16 Lock Screen widgets.
