Apple has officially released the first developer betas of iOS 16 and iPadOS 16, allowing users to download the new software following its announcement today.
Registered developers can download iOS 16 and iPadOS 16 from the Apple Developer Center, giving early access to all the new features the updates bring, including the ability to personalize the Lock Screen, recall sent messages, schedule mail, collaborate via Messages, and more.
Today’s beta is available only to registered developers, with Apple saying it will begin the public beta cycle next month.
Apple will be beta testing iOS 16 and iPadOS 16 until the fall, with the main public release of the new updates expected to arrive around the launch of this year’s new iPhone models. iOS 16 is available on the iPhone 8 and later, dropping support for the original iPhone SE, the iPhone 6s, the iPhone 6s Plus, and the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.
