Apple has reportedly been working on a new blood pressure detection feature for the Apple Watch over the past four years but apparently, accuracy issues during testing has reportedly pushed the feature’s public debut back until 2024 at the earliest, according to a new report from Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman on Tuesday.

The report says Apple has been testing blood pressure detection on employees and has found issues with the accuracy of the feature’s readings, adding that the version under testing does not report systolic and diastolic readings like regular blood pressure checks, instead showing the user a warning recommending that they see a medical centre about hypertension.

Blood pressure detection has been rumored to be coming to the Apple Watch for several years, with Gurman saying 2024 will likely be the earliest we will see the feature available publicly, or possibly 2025.
