Apple scraps App Store Connect holiday shutdown

Apple has announced that it will no longer shutdown App Store Connect for the holidays in December, allowing developers to continue to submit new and updated apps to the App Store throughout the holiday season.

Traditionally Apple has closed App Store Connect for several days between Christmas and New Year. During this time, developers weren’t able to submit new apps or updates for review, while all other App Store Connect functions remained available.

In a post on the Apple Developer webpage on Monday, Apple announced that for the first time it would be scrapping the seasonal shutdown, encouraging developers to plan ahead and get their apps ready for review to avoid delays during the busiest season on the App Store.

This year, we’re pleased to continue accepting submissions in App Store Connect throughout the upcoming holidays. Make sure your apps are up to date and ready for the busiest season on the App Store. Due to anticipated high volume, plan to send time-sensitive submissions early. Please note that reviews may take longer to complete from November 24 to 28 and December 23 to 27.
