Apple announces new A13 Bionic entry-level iPad, starting at $329

Apple has kicked off its long-awaited “California streaming” special event, announcing a new A13 Bionic entry-level iPad.

The new entry-level iPad only received a minor update compared to the previous generation model, with Apple introducing a True Tone display, A13 Bionic processor and improved low-light auto-focus performance for the rear camera.

On the front, Apple has upgraded the FaceTime HD camera and introduced a new 12MP ultrawide system, bringing across the Centre Stage feature previously found exclusively on the iPad Pro – a feature that uses machine learning to adjust the front-facing so that as users move around, the camera automatically pans the camera to keep them in view.

iPad has never been more essential for working, learning, and communicating, and we’re excited to bring one of the biggest updates ever to our most popular iPad. With the powerful A13 Bionic, more engaging video calls with Center Stage, and double the storage, the new iPad delivers advanced capabilities, versatility, and simplicity at an incredible value.

The new iPad is available to order beginning today with availability beginning Friday, September 24.

Wi-Fi models of iPad are available with a starting price of $329 (US), and Wi-Fi + Cellular models start at $459 (US), in silver and space gray finishes. The new iPad starts with 64GB of storage — double the storage of the previous generation. A 256GB option is also available.
