Apple reports 87.5% earnings growth in Greater China during Q2 2021

Apple has announced its Q2 2021 earnings results, reporting record revenue of $89.6 billion, up 54 percent year over year, and an all-time record for Mac and Services revenue for the quarter.

In the quarter, covering the months of January, February, and March, the iPhone maker has reported a staggering 87.5% earnings growth in Greater China from this time last year. Speaking live during its Financial Results Conference Call on Wednesday, Apple CEO Tim Cook said “We were very pleased with our performance in China. [Setting a] March quarter revenue record. Revenue growth was broad across categories.”

Q2 2021 saw strong iPad and Mac sales with great strength across the board, with Cook claiming about two-thirds of people buying the Mac and iPad in China were buying them for the first time.

As a whole, the quarter saw iPhone revenue set a March record, growing 66% year over year with 660-million paying customers across all of its Services, an increase of 40 million paid subscribers, up 145 million from a year ago.
