Apple on Monday reopened all 270 Apple Stores in the US, following closures spanning almost a year in response to the global COVID-19 pandemic, which in March 13, 2020 saw the iPhone maker shut all of its stores outside of Greater China as the virus took hold worldwide.
As reported by 9to5Mac, Apple’s last remaining closed stores reopened their doors today, with not all locations open fully to customers, but all now offering either in-store shopping appointments or Express pickup of online orders and Genius Support appointments.
The last stores to open, in Texas around Houston, Dallas, and San Antonio, were closed due to winter storms whitewashing the area, forcing Apple, amongst others, to keep their retail stores closed until conditions improved.
Customers visiting an Apple Store are now required to undergo temperature checks upon arrival, as well as being required to wear a face mask and to sanitize their hands upon entering the stores.
Apple Stores around the world continue to be closed due to COVID-19, with the UK, for example, not allowing non-essential retail stores to open to customers until mid-April.
