Apple again extending Apple TV+ free trials, now until July 2021

Apple is again extending the length of its Apple TV+ free trials, now offering users who subscribed to a free year trial of the service in September 2019 a second extension, giving free Apple TV+ access until July 2021.

Apple’s first Apple TV+ trial extension came in October last year when it was confirmed that subscribers wouldn’t need to pay for the service until February 2021. With today’s extension, those who subscribed when Apple TV+ first launched in September 2019 will now accrue an additional 9 months of free access to the service.

According to 9to5Mac, who first reported on the change, like last time Apple will be issuing store credit for subscribers to Apple TV+ monthly or yearly plans during this period, with refunds set to be automatically issued where applicable.

Apple hasn’t made an official announcement to confirm why it is extending the trial, but like last time, the extension is likely due to many planned Apple TV+ releases, such as the second series of The Morning Show, For All Mankind, See, and more being postponed due to filming not being able to take place because of the global health pandemic.
