Apple launches 2020 Back to School promo, offering free AirPods with iPad and Mac

Update: The Back to School promo is now available for eligible students in Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and Mexico.

Apple has launched its annual Back to School promo in the U.S. and Canada, offering free AirPods with qualifying iPad and Mac purchases, as well as offering discounts on accessories and 20 percent off AppleCare+.

Unlike previous years that have seen a free pair of Beats headphones gifted with purchases, Apple is now offering AirPods to eligible college students and their parents, K-12 and higher-ed teachers and faculty at no cost when buying any iPad Air, iPad Pro or Mac, with the exception of the Mac Pro and Mac mini, from Apple.com on the new “Back to School” webpage or at an Apple Store.

Customers can choose to swap their free AirPods for the high-end AirPods Pro for $90, or add the Wireless Charging Case for the regular AirPods for $40.

The deal follows after Apple launched new financing plans earlier today for customers purchasing iPads, Macs, AirPods, and more using Apple Card, offering 0% interest for up to 12 months.
