Apple reopening flagship Sydney Apple Store on May 28 following renovations

Apple has revealed that its flagship George Street Apple Store in Sydney, Australia will reopen on May 28 following renovations which commenced at the beginning of the year.

Located in the heart of the city’s shopping district, the Apple Sydney renovations are expected to see the introduction of the modern store aesthetic seen at other new and recently renovated Apple retail stores, including sequoia wood tables and matching wooden shelves, bright light boxes, indoor trees, new seating for personal set-up and Genius Bar customers as well as a large Today at Apple display and more.

Apple has updated its webpage to announce the store will reopen this Thursday at 10:00am (local time) and the store itself has had its construction hoarding removed to reveal the full glass exterior.

The reopening will mark the first time since the outbreak of the global coronavirus pandemic that Apple has opened a new store. The company has gradually been reopening locations which were forced to close in the interest of public safety, but this will be the first “new” location to see its doors reopen amid the crisis.
