iOS 13.4 beta suggests Apple working on new over-the-air recovery feature for iPhone

Apple has released its third beta instalment of iOS 13.4, and within the release developers have discovered references to a hidden “OS Recovery” option which suggests the company is working on an over-the-air recovery feature designed for iPhone and iPad.

Spotted by 9to5Mac, the new feature is expected to offer the ability to restore an ‌iPhone‌, ‌iPad‌, Apple Watch, or HomePod without the need to connect to a computer.

Alongside the new “OS Recovery” option, the new iOS 13.4 beta seeds have shown Apple will be introducing 9 new Memoji sticker types, iCloud Drive folder sharing support, updates to the Mail toolbar, and more, all expected to arrive as soon as late March.

The “OS Recovery” tool for iPhone and iPad looks as if it will work like the macOS Internet Recovery tool which allows users to reinstall the operating system over the internet without needing another computer nearby.
