$193 million spent on the App Store on Christmas Day, according to estimates

Christmas Day saw $193 million spent on the App Store, according to SensorTower’s estimates which suggest Apple saw App Store purchases rise by around 16% on December 25th compared to 2018.

SensorTower’s predicts worldwide spending across the App Store and Google Play on Christmas Day topped $277 million, a year-over-year growth of 11.3% from the $249 million estimated to have been spent last Christmas.

The record breaking App Store single day revenue is believed to have been helped by new device activations on Christmas Day as well as users redeeming App Store gift cards.
