Apple supplier Quanta likely to stop Apple Watch assembly in 2020 due to profit concerns

Apple supplier Quanta is likely to stop taking assembly orders for the ‌Apple Watch‌ next year due to profit concerns, according to sources speaking with Taiwanese publication DigiTimes who claim the manufacturer could sell its plant in Changshu, China dedicated to assembling the wearable.

Reports last September claimed Quanta was working to full capacity to produce the Apple Watch Series 4 following strong demand for the wearable which brought the first major redesign of the device alongside its highly sought after ECG functionality, with sources claiming Taiwanese-based Compal Electronics had been hired to aid production of the model.

Quanta has been the primary manufacturer of the ‌Apple Watch‌ since the original model was released in 2015. DigiTimes are yet to release a full story detailing the supposed woes at Quanta, but they have shared a small snippet:
