Apple expected to introduce new 10.2-inch iPad at today’s event, replacing current 9.7-inch model

Apple is rumored to introduce an all-new 10.2-inch iPad today at its highly-anticipated ‘By innovation only’ event at Apple Park, which is expected to see the introduction of Apple’s next-generation iPhone line and updated Apple Watch models.

Bloomberg author Mark Gurman has claimed Apple will debut a new low-cost 10.2-inch iPad today that will replace the current entry-level 9.7-inch iPad which sells for $329. The Apple Post has previously reported a new10.2-inch iPad is in the making, but the model wasn’t expected until October when Apple is rumored to host a second event to introduce new iPad Pro and Mac hardware.

Very little is known about the 9.7-inch iPad successor, although the model is expected to continue to use Touch ID and will likely inherit the same overall design (apart from the size, obviously) of the model it is replacing.
