Apple launches Display Module Replacement Program for iPhone X

Apple is launching a Display Module Replacement Program for the iPhone X to address touch issues which in some cases can cause the display of the device to react randomly, or become completely unresponsive to touch.

The touch issues are fixable with a new display that Apple is installing for free at Apple retail locations across the globe. Ghost touches and displays that fail to respond to touch have been reported since the iPhone X launched in late 2017, but only now Apple is offering a full, off-warranty replacement program at no cost to customers.

Alongside repairs at Apple retail locations, customers experiencing touch issues with their iPhone X can find an Apple Authorized Service Provider, or contact Apple Support to arrange mail-in service to get a replacement.

For those affected by this issue and have paid for a repair, Apple is asking customers to reach out to Apple Support to request a refund. The free repair program covers iPhone X devices for three years after the original purchase of the handset.

Prior to your repair Apple advises customers back up their iPhones to iTunes or iCloud before the appointment, and that other damage, such as a cracked screen, may need to be addressed before the display repair can be completed.
