Apple Store experiencing ‘Global’ issue with iPhone and Apple Watch reservation pick-up system

On one of the busiest days for Apple, it looks as if the company is experiencing worldwide outages on its iPhone and Apple Watch reservation pick-up system, forcing customers to wait in-line until the company manages to fix the issue.

For about an hour or so Apple’s point-of-sale and pickup system has been unable to process iPhone or Apple Watch pick-ups, leaving eager customers stuck in-line waiting to be given an update on when they’ll be able to purchase their new devices.

The glitch with the system has meant lines outside Apple retail locations have become even busier as pick-up slots have been missed and customers have been left to wait. – Apple hasn’t officially commented on the glitch and its unclear when pickups will resume.

Update: Apple appears to have fixed the issue with its system. Apple Stores are now working through a backlog of customers who had been forced to wait while the technical issue was fixed.
