iOS 12 beta 4 released to developers

Right on schedule Apple has released the fourth beta of iOS 12. As usual there’s some aspects that have changed and a couple things that are now broken.

Below you’ll be able to take a look at everything that was added (and broken) inside of the latest software release.

To get started, this is what is new within the latest beta:

  • iOS automatic updates are suggested during setup
  • More Activity stickers in Messages
  • Setting wallpaper with a photo is fixed. Previously you couldn’t reposition the image
  • Cellular usage now organized by highest amount of data usage, not alphabetical
  • Activity app has tweaked icons for workouts
  • 1x/2x for iPhone apps on iPad now has expand arrows instead
  • Animoji gains more lip style choices, ear ring colors now have shine

According to Apple’s release notes for beta 4, there are several new issues with features like Screen Time, the App Store, and Siri Shortcuts.

  • Apps in the App Store might fail to download properly the first time
  • Cellular signal status bar on the iPhone X could be inaccurate while on the Lock Screen or Home Screen.
  • Screen Time usage data and settings may not sync between devices (Apple recommends users restart their devices to fix the issue)
  • Siri Shortcuts may not work while using CarPlay and could result in an error message on HomePod.
  • Siri Shortcuts may not be restored from iCloud backups and may not work if a device is locked
  • SiriKit queries could be delayed or result in an error message.
