Apple Pay reportedly launching in Poland on Tuesday

Apple Pay is reportedly launching in Poland on Tuesday according to Polish blog Cashless.pl who claim the service will be supported by Alior, BGŻ BNP Paribas, BZ WBK, Getin, mBank, Nest Bank, Pekao and Raiffeisen Polbank.

As reported by 9to5Mac.com, while not confirmed, the report says that more banks will be added in September, which may include PKO BP, Poland’s largest retail bank.

Apple CEO Tim Cook mentioned earlier in the year that Apple Pay would be expanding out into several new countries in the coming months, which included Poland. In April Apple Pay went live in Brazil for Itaú Unibanco customers.

So far Apple Pay Cash, Apple’s person-to-person payment service hasn’t expanded out of the United States following the initial launch of the service alongside iOS 11.2 in December. It’s unclear if Poland will be the first country to support Apple Pay Cash outside of the United States, however; if the report is truthful then we won’t have long to find out whether the service will launch or not.
