Apple releases iOS 11.3.1 with third-party display fix

Apple has released iOS 11.3.1, its thirteenth official update to the iOS 11 operating system, for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch, fixing a bug which caused some third-party screen repairs on iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus models to disable the touch functionality of the device.

Today also sees the official public release of a security update to the recent macOS 10.13.4 update to macOS High Sierra.

How to download iOS 11.3.1:

Don’t panic if you can’t see iOS 11.3.1 showing on your compatible iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, due to the high volumes of users trying to download the software, things might be a little slower than usual. If you’re near your computer, you can simply connect your device to iTunes and download via the iTunes desktop app however, if you’re going wire-free, simply follow the instructions below…

  1. Open Settings and click General.
  2. Tap “Software Update” and wait for iOS 11.3.1 to show.
  3. Once iOS 11.3.1 is shown as an available update, tap “Download and Install” and follow the on-screen instructions.
