Snapchat launches exclusive face filters for iPhone X

Snapchat has released three new face filters exclusively on the iPhone X, taking full advantage of the device’s TrueDepth camera system to offer users augmented reality masks that are superimposed using Apple’s advanced facial mapping technology.

The new filters were first previewed during the unveiling of the iPhone X in September by Craig Federighi who opted to wear a green, yellow, black and blue wrestler-style face mask on stage, available now to users alongside a glittery tiara and an ‘ornate, bejewelled’ face mask.

Snapchat is one of the first major apps to integrate TrueDepth facial data since iPhone X launched in November. It’s unclear if new filters will be added, and how long the existing ones will be available.
