iOS 11.3 reportedly launching next week according to Shure

iOS 11

iPhone accessory maker Shure has claimed iOS 11.3 will be released to the public next week following a spate of issues with their Lightning Connector connected microphones for iPhone, a bug Apple has promised will be fixed in the upcoming iOS 11.3 software release.

As spotted by Piunikaweb, a tweet sent in response to a complaint from Shure’s official Twitter account claimed Apple would release the software next week, meaning Apple would be bringing the release forward from their original release date of spring.

It’s unclear how Shure, a third-party to Apple would know of the company’s release schedule. It is possible that due to how badly Shure’s products are affected due to the bug within the current versions of iOS software Apple has given them an insight into their release schedule, however we remain sceptical.

Shure has since deleted the tweet, however a copy can be seen below…

The release will bring “major updates to ARKit, Messages and more”, including new Animoji on iPhone X, the ability to view health records in the Health app and updates to ARKit. The update will bring new features to show a devices battery health, with the ability to make recommendations to a user when a battery needs to be serviced, something Apple noted would launch within an iOS update last December following a mass controversy over the announcement that Apple deliberately slows older iPhones with aging batteries to prevent performance issues.

The ‘spring’ timeframe technically means anytime between 20 March and 21 June. The current iOS 11.3 beta also still includes the Feedback app, something which is normally removed in the build before the public release. Due to how early Apple is within the beta testing of iOS 11.3 we wouldn’t be surprised if this report turns out to be false.
