Clues point to Apple hosting WWDC 2018 between June 4-8

Clues are pointing to Apple hosting its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) between Monday June 4th and Friday June 8th at the McEnery Convention Center in San Jose, California, the same venue used last year for WWDC 2017.

WWDC 2018 will unveil iOS 12 along with newer versions of watchOS, tvOS and macOS 10.14. It’s been previously reported iOS 12 will likely to focus on stability, performance and reliability of the software instead of adding a large amount of new features.

Reports have suggested Apple is working on new developer tools which will enable developers to design and engineer a single application that runs on iPhone, iPad and Mac devices, internally called project “Marzipan” which if true may debut at the conference. – Apple could also introduce new Siri functionality to HomePod.

The McEnery Convention Center’s calendar shows that between Monday June 4th and Friday June 8th would be the only dates Apple could host the event at the McEnery venue, with other bookings (below) confirmed for weeks after…

  • O’Reilly Velocity Conference (June 11th-14th)
  • DataWorks Summit and Hadoop Summit (June 17th-21st)
  • Sensors Expo & Conference (June 26th-28th)

This time last year Apple had already announced the dates for WWDC 2017 with Phil Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing revealing Apple would move the conference away from the Moscone Center in San Francisco which had been home to Apple’s annual Worldwide Developers Conference since 2003.
