HomePods settings, volume controls and more shown in leaked screenshots

Ahead of the imminent public release of HomePod, new leaked screenshots shared by Apple employees in France who are privately testing the Siri speaker have shown the devices settings, volume controls and more.

Published by iGeneration who also shares an image showing the HomePod’s touch surface, it appears that unlike the Apple Watch that has a designated app built into iOS, users will be able to control HomePod through the Home app, giving them the ability to turn on and off HomePod’s LED touch surface, press to speak to Siri, toggle Siri sound effects and more.

The image shows that HomePod will be configurable to the users specifications, with settings for speed of voice, pressure sensitivity, and more.

HomePod uses an Apple-designed 4-inch woofer powered by Apple’s A8 chip; the HomePod is cased in a mesh with a display at the top that shows the familiar Siri icon when a user prompts the device. HomePod will be able to play music, read the news, send and receive iMessages, set reminders, listen to Podcasts, provide answers to general questions, check the weather and perform many other tasks.
