Apple has updated their App Store support page for developers to show that iOS 11 is now installed on over 65% of iPhone, iPad and iPod touch devices, up 6% since early December.
iOS 11 overtook iOS 10 in October becoming the most popular, actively used iOS version. Although Apple has released several updates since the launch of the OS in September, numerous bugs and security issues have likely slowed down adoption rates for iOS 11.
The news comes ahead of the release of a new iOS update scheduled for next week which will bring a fix for the “chaiOS” crashing bug which causes the Messages app to break and freeze on iOS and macOS devices which receive a malicious link.
