Apple has updated checkcoverage.apple.com, the tool used to check the status of a users AppleCare warranty coverage to require Apple ID verification before proceeding to show AppleCare warranty coverage information.
The update comes as part of a design overhaul to the support page. Now when a users visits the checkcoverage.apple.com webpage, they are redirected to the new My Support portal that lists all devices associated with the Apple ID, as well as any recent activity associated with your Apple ID account, such as calls to AppleCare and repairs.
Before the update, anybody could use the website to check the warranty of a device using its serial number or IMEI number.
