According to Taiwan’s Economic Daily News, Apple is preparing an updated iPhone SE for launch during the first half of 2018, with sources reporting the device will be assembled exclusively by Taiwanese manufacturer Wistron at their factory in Bengaluru, India.

This isn’t the first time we had reports that an updated iPhone SE in the pipeline, back in August is was said that the refreshed handset could feature Apple’s A10 Fusion chip, with 2GB of RAM, 32GB and 128GB storage capacities, a 12-megapixel rear camera, a five-megapixel front camera, and a slightly larger 1,700 mAh battery.

While no leaks have shown evidence of a refreshed device launching, the rumoured launch of during the first half of 2018 means if Apple did go ahead and update the device we can expect it to appear during some point between January through March of next year.

The current iPhone SE looks much like the iPhone 5s, including its smaller four-inch display. It’s unclear if the next device will have a redesign to fit in with Apple’s current iPhone line, or if the company will add minor internal improvements.
