iMac Pro to possibly include always-on ‘Hey Siri’

While the HomePod might have been delayed until early 2018, the iMac Pro is still set to debut later next month. Although, we are now learning that the iMac Pro may include an unmentioned feature.

According to some snooping developers, the iMac Pro is to feature an A10 Fusion coprocessor, possibly for always-on ‘Hey Siri’. This would be the first time that a Mac has used an A-series chip designed by Apple. Developer Steve Troughton-Smith says that it appears the chip runs even when the iMac Pro is completely shut off.

Currently, Apple includes a custom-built ARM chip called the T1 inside its newest MacBook Pro models that feature Touch ID and the Touch Bar. A firm release date is yet to be set, but Apple has stated that the product will arrive by the end of the year.
