According to KGI Securities analyst Ming Chi Kuo, one of the most accurate and reliable voices on all things Apple who published a research note on Monday, it’s almost certain that Apple’s Amazon Echo competitor, dubbed the “Siri Hub” will launch at the company’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June, before launching it in the second half of the year.
The device is said to feature one woofer and seven tweeters for rich sound and is believed to be powered by a custom ARM processor, equal in power to at least the A8 CPU on the iPhone 6 or newer.
Ming Chi Kuo believes that Apple could ship as many as 12 million units over the product’s first year of availability according to AppleInsider who held a copy of the report. Last week we reported that Apple’s new Amazon Echo-like AI ‘Siri Hub’ device would perform similarly to Siri on iOS, allowing users to voice command their device to perform a range of tasks from home automation to providing information and feedback.
The Amazon Echo is the market leader at the moment for this type of AI device however, Siri’s advanced technology which allows the assistant to provide feedback in 18 languages and large user base within the iOS and macOS community is said to be enough to make the device a success.
