Apple expected to be first trillion dollar digital company by middle of this year

While it was rumored that Google’s parent company Alphabet or Amazon might beat Apple for being the first trillion dollar company, analysts are predicting that the Cupertino firm is right on track to break the record. Asymco’s, Horace Dediu, predicts that’s Apple will cross the $1 trillion mark by the middle of this year thanks to iOS.

Dediu says that the iPhone will have sold at least 1.2 billion units in its first 10 years, making it the “most successful product of all-time,” and ultimately brought to life the iPod Touch, iPad, and many more product lines that we all know from Apple today.

In its first 10 years, the iPhone will have sold at least 1.2 billion units, making it the most successful product of all time. The iPhone also enabled the iOS empire which includes the iPod touch, the iPad, the Apple Watch and Apple TV whose combined total unit sales will reach 1.75 billion units over 10 years. This total is likely to top 2 billion units by the end of 2018.

Of course hardware isn’t the only thing Apple makes a profit from. Apple has brought in more than $100 million in services like apps, subscriptions, and media.

This of course isn’t set in stone. We can’t be 100% positive they’ll hit this goal by the middle of this year, but the company is certainly on track. Analysts say that the company needs one more “home run” product to seal the deal. This achievement would come the same year as the iPhone’s 10th anniversary and not too long after 1 billion device activations.
