Logitech M330 Silent Plus Mouse Review

Back in August popular accessory manufacturer, Logitech, announced that they had developed its first ever quiet mouse. The company touts that their M330 Silent Plus and M220 Silent mice deliver the same precision, durability and “click” feel without the noise and I can for sure say that the statement is spot on!

As mentioned above there are two versions on the silent mouse; the M330 Silent Plus and M220. I picked up the M330 Silent Plus as I prefer the look. The M330 comes in both a black and a gray/yellow while the M220 only comes in black. The larger plus model retails for $29.99 (although I was able to grab one for $12.99) and the smaller M220 goes for $24.99. Both of the mice work with Mac, Windows, Chrome OS or Linux-based computers so it’s very universal.

I’ve been a long time Logitech mouse user and I have had flawless experiences. I’m coming from a M510 which I’ve been using for a few years. The new 330 itself feels great in the hands. The clicks are extremely quiet. Even scrolling is louder than the actual click. While it is quiet you still get the “click” feeling so you know you’ve successfully clicked.

While it’s too early to tell personally, Logitech rates the silent mouse to have up to 24-month battery life. (18-months for the M220). This is achieved as the mouse automatically puts itself to sleep when not in use.

As for connectivity, the silent mice use a 2.4GHz wireless connection. If you’re looking for Bluetooth connectivity you’re not going to find a silent version. Instead you’ll have to upgrade to Logitech’s newest M720 Triathlon. If you’re curious the M720 can seamlessly switch between up to three devices with the touch of a button. If you would like us to review the M720 Triathlon be sure to let us know! Anyway… Back to the connectivity. The silent mice are capable of using Logitech’s Unified Receiver. This means that up to six compatible devices can use a single USB receiver. This by far is the most convenient feature as I could switch back to another mouse should I choose without changing receivers.

Overall this mouse is a must have accessory! With the holiday season approaching and at only $30 it would make great gift for either yourself or someone else.
