New Mac Candle by Twelve South Review

Almost everyone loves the smell of new Apple products. When I heard about this new candle by Twelve South I was absolutely thrilled! Before ordering I was curious if it would live up to the infamous products “Designed by Apple in California.” A few short weeks later, I had my answer.

On the underside of the candle you’ll be greeted with a statement from the company claiming that the scent is their own interpretation of what new Apple products smell like. The New Mac candle is a 100% hand-poured soy wax candle manufactured in South Carolina. Twelve South says that the scent is comprised of Mint, Peach, Basil, Lavender, Mandarin and Sage.

Unfortunately I wasn’t given the joy of removing the lid of the candle due to shipping complications. Now whether that blame should be put on FedEx/USPS or the company’s packaging themselves, I’m not sure. My excitement soon declined rapidly. On top of the lid coming off, wax had started to melt on the lid. Fortunately though the candle itself was perfectly fine.

The New Mac candle has a burn time of 45-55 hours, although the lid itself will provide a scent for a small enclosed area. To my disappointment the candle doesn’t really smell like a new Mac or any Apple product really. In my opinion the scent is more basil than anything else. On the plus side though, it’s still a very pleasant scent for a room.

You can pick up the candle for $24 from Twelve South’s website with free shipping within the U.S.
