Verizon app leaks ‘Apple Watch Series 3’, hinting at cellular LTE capabilities
With Apple’s highly anticipated “Let’s meet at our our place” media event hours away, the Verizon app for iPhone appears to of leaked the ‘Apple Watch Series 3’, hinting that the next generation Apple wearable will launch with cellular LTE capabilities.
As discovered by 9to5Mac, users were briefly given the option to select the so far unannounced ‘Apple Watch Series 3’ from a drop-down in one of the configuration screens for adding a device, with the device listed alongside LG GizmoPal and standard USB Modems.
While the leak didn’t reveal pricing or other new features, it does verify previous reports that noticed Apple would add ellular LTE capabilities on their next generation Apple Watch. As shown above, the Apple Watch Series 3 appears to have a new Digital Crown and watch face, retaining the same design as last year’s Series 2.
It worth pointing out that this is not the first time we have seen the red dot on the Digital Crown. When the watch originally launched back in 2015 Tim Cook was seen with the same setup on his stainless steel Apple Watch, possibly hinting the company has been testing the technology for a couple years.
