Tim Cook claims Mac mini will be “an important part” of Apple’s future product lineup
Three years since Apple last updated the Mac mini, Tim Cook has said that the machine plays “an important part” of Apple’s future product lineup “going forward”, leaving many wondering if Apple could be planning a refresh for the ageing desktop hardware.
The current Mac mini is beginning to seriously lag behind, using Haswell processors and integrated Intel HD 5000/Intel Iris Graphics. – Following a preview in June, Apple will soon be launching their “completely rethought” $4999 iMac Pro as well as new pro-focused iMacs and Apple designed external Displays.
Responding to an email from MacRumors reader Krar, Tim Cook said…
Our customers have found so many creative and interesting uses for Mac mini. While it is not time to share any details, we do plan for Mac mini to be an important part of our product line going forward.
