Romanian carrier begins pre-orders of ‘iPhone 9’, ‘iPhone Xs’ & ‘iPhone Xs Max’
Romania-based online retailer Quick Mobile has begun pre-orders for the unannounced “iPhone Xs,” “iPhone Xs Max (plus),” and “iPhone 9” ahead of Apple’s official ‘Gather round’ media event on September 12th when the company is expected to announce its line of 2018 iPhone models.
The online store is using the “Xs” suffix for the two new OLED iPhone models, and naming the low-cost 6.1-inch LCD iPhone the “iPhone 9”, offering the “Xs” models in 64-gigabyte, 256-gigabyte, and 512-gigabyte variants, and the “iPhone 9” in 64-gigabyte and 256-gigabyte versions.
The pre-order pages for the three new iPhone models don’t provide any information on the new devices apart from their names and an image of the rear of the handsets. Despite claims the “iPhone 9” will be available in a range of new colour finishes, and the two “iPhone Xs” models will be offered in gold, Quick Mobile is showing all new handsets in Silver and Space Grey.
Given the lack of information supplied by Quick Mobile, one would assume the product images shown online aren’t official Apple marketing imagery and this is simply a way to get some publicity prior to the official launch of the new iPhone models… even so, it’s interesting to see what what carriers expect from the new devices.
