Reports claim Apple will add a Beats 1 broadcasting studio to their new Fifth Avenue retail store
As renovation works continue on Apple’s flagship Fifth Avenue retail store, a report originating from AppleInsider claims that Beats 1 DJ Ebro Darden will host a number of live shows from the iconic Apple Store, with shoppers able to watch Beats 1 being broadcasted live while browsing the store.
While the possibility of Beats 1 being broadcasted from an Apple Store in front of a live audience sounds exciting, the show is said to also be hosted from Apple’s current New York studio on West 27th Street from time to time, especially when Beats 1 has high-profile guests brought in.
The report of a Beats 1 broadcasting studio doesn’t sound to far fetched, some of Apple’s bigger outlets do occasionally host musical guests and considering the popularity of Apple’s flagship Fifth Avenue retail store this would be a great way for the company to promote their radio station and Apple Music.
Work started on Apple’s Fifth Avenue store back in January and Apple has been temporarily relocated to the vacated space of toy retailer FAO Schwarz, next door to the iconic cube location which it had previously been rumoured Apple was interested in expanding into “some or all” of the 61,000-square-foot FAO Schwarz space that it’s now using. Once work is completed the Apple Store will more than doubleits underground footprint from 32,000 square feet to 77,000.
