Regulatory filings in Russia point to Apple introducing up to five new Mac models and four new iOS devices soon
As discovered by Consomac, new Regulatory filings in Russia appear to show that Apple is preparing to introduce up to five new Mac models and four new iOS devices in the near future. The five new Macs, identified only with the model numbers A1289, A1347, A1418, A1419, and A1481, are likely to be new 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Pros alongside a new 12-inch MacBook. As reported yesterday, increased shipping estimates for Apple’s 15-inch MacBook Pro hint that Apple could be planning on adding Intel’s faster Kaby Lake processors to the machine and given the time of year we don’t expect a dramatic update to the Mac.
According to KGI’s Ming-Chi Kuo, dubbed the “best Apple analyst on the planet” by some, there is more than a 70% chance Apple will unveil an all new 10.9-inch iPad at WWDC in June. It’s been reported the new tablet will debut without a physical Home Button and boast a bezel-free design (a top bezel will remain for the front-facing FaceTime camera) which will allow for the 10.9-inch model to have the same overall footprint as the current 9.7-inch iPad Pro. It’s likely that the four model numbers (A1671, A1709, A1670, and A1701) are both cellular and Wi-Fi models of the new tablet.
With Apple’s annual World Wide Developers Conference one week away, it’s likely that the new Mac and iOS hardware will debut on stage during the main Keynote on Monday 5th June.
