Production moulds show what appear to be the iPhone 7s, iPhone 7s Plus and iPhone 8 side by side
Weibo leaks claim to show production moulds of the iPhone 7s, iPhone 7s Plus and iPhone 8 side by side, showing that the iPhone 8 will feature a new vertical dual camera module that is said to support augmented reality features as well as showing no visible cutouts for a rear Touch ID sensor, meaning it’s likely Apple has overcome their difficulties in integrating Touch ID into the display of the new 2017 handset.
Alongside the iPhone 8 are moulds of the iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus that will be minor updates to Apple’s current iPhone 7 offerings. It’s believed the two devices will use the same LCD displays as their predecessors, leaving OLED as an exclusive feature on the iPhone 8.
As with all leaks, it’s not clear if the moulds is legitimate, and with more anticipation building for the release of the iPhone 8 it’s not uncommon for fake news to surface. Schematic published last month on Weibo claimed Apple’s next generation smartphone will use a a dual-lens vertical rear camera and possible wireless charging area with no rear Touch ID sensor.
