The OLED touch panel rumoured to launch on the new MacBook Pro is reportedly called “Magic Toolbar” according to trademark filings
Following Apple’s confirmation yesterday that their company shall be hosting a Keynote at their campus in Cupertino on Thursday 27th October 2016 to reportedly debut a range of refreshed Macintosh computers; new trademark filings seem to give us an indication of the naming behind one of the most talked about features rumoured to launch with the new Macbook Pro.
Working alongside the Magic Keyboard, Magic Mouse, Magic Trackpad; the “Magic Toolbar” is suggested to be the name given by Apple for the OLED touch panel rumoured to launch with the Macbook Pro; with the application filed by the same lawyers who applied for the “AirPods” trademark. – The “Magic Toolbar” will be the OLED touch panel which shall replace the top row of keys found on the keyboard of the MacBook Pro, with the touch sensitive bar responsive to movements similar to the screen found on the iPhone or iPad.
The ageing MacBook Pro hasn’t seen a major redesign since 2012, with other rumours suggesting that upcoming Macintosh hardware will feature Touch ID, new Skylake chips alongside a slimmer profile and design across the Mac line-up.
