MacBook shipments are expected to increase by 10%, with the company set to ship around 15 million units this year
According to a report published by Digitimes, MacBook shipments are expected to increase by 10% during this year, with the company set to ship around 15 million MacBook and MacBook Pro models to customers world wide.
The report comes after The Apple Post shared KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo’s predictions that the Cupertino company is planning an updated 12-inch MacBook and refreshed 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Pro models to launch towards the end of 2017, wit the revised 15-inch MacBook Pro speculated to gain a new desktop-class 32GB of RAM.
In yesterdays report, Ming-Chi Kuo suggests Apple’s 13-inch MacBook Pro without Touch Bar is performing worse than Apple had expected, with the company considering a price cut later in the year to try and improve shipments.
The Digitimes report claims that updated Mac hardware and possible price reductions will “trigger a replacement trend among existing MacBook users”, with customers likely to swap their older hardware for the refreshed machines planned for this year.
