Leaked images appear to show iPhone 8 units at the Foxconn factory
A new leaked image seemingly taken from prominent Apple supplier, Foxconn, appears to show iPhone 8 units featuring vertical dual camera modules and cutouts for a rear facing Touch ID sensor, accurately matching previously seen component leaks from Apple’s supply chain.
Although the image doesn’t show the front of the handset, it does give us a clear indication of what to expect on the rear. It looks as if early reports which claimed Apple was struggling to integrate Touch ID into the display of the iPhone 8 were true, with Apple now adopting an Android style of approach by relocating the sensor to the rear of the device.
The vertical dual camera module on the iPhone 8 is expected to allow for picture perfect Portrait Mode imagery as well as 4K video at 60fps according to code recently discovered within HomePod firmware.
