Inside the uncompleted Steve Jobs Theater at Apple Park
Apple’s ‘Let’s meet at our place’ media event is only a couple of days away, and new pictures uploaded to Google Maps give us a glimpse into the unfinished Steve Jobs Theater at Apple Park where the company shall publicly unveil the highly anticipated iPhone 8, announce the public release date of iOS 11 and more.
The images, which were uploaded to Google Maps in June, show the on-site auditorium in full construction mode, with contractors and building material shown at all angles. While it’s unclear what the theater looks like now, it appears that Apple has chosen a lot of natural wood finishes, with the wood shown on the steps and stage walls.
The 1,000-seat auditorium features a 20-foot-tall glass cylinder, 165 feet in diameter, supporting a metallic carbon-fiber roof. The Steve Jobs Theater is situated atop a hill — one of the highest points within Apple Park — overlooking meadows and the main building.
