Hands-on video claims to show an iPhone 8 dummy unit with a vertical camera lens and embedded Touch ID sensor
A new hands-on video has surfaced on Twitter from Benjamin Geskin claiming to show an iPhone 8 dummy unit with a vertical camera lens and embedded Touch ID sensor.
The hands-on iPhone 8 dummy unit footage shows Apple has seemingly increased the size of the sleep/wake button on the device as well as increasing the “camera bump” to accommodate the new vertical dual camera module that is said to support new augmented reality features and offer an LED flash, a microphone and the same optical zoom capability as the iPhone 7 Plus’ camera. One thing lacking from the “iPhone 8” shown in the leaked video is Touch ID on the back of the device, hinting that Apple was able to overcome the obstacles faced when trying to implement the finger print scanning technology into the display of the upcoming handset.
Unfortunately, the new hands-on video doesn’t show the device powered on so it’s hard to tell whether or not the handset has an OLED display, or whether its screen is bigger than that of the iPhone 7. The video shows that unlike current iPhones that use aluminium unibodies, the iPhone 8 shall feature a polished stainless steel frame similar to the stainless steel Apple Watch.
